Revolutionary HDPE pipe installed in Tamarac, FL

February 2015

The City of Tamarac, Florida needed to replace a 26-year-old concrete potable water service line. The water service line had inherent leaking issues at joints and was causing costly maintenance and service outages in the area.

HDPE piping was chosen as a replacement due to its flexibility, toughness, and ease of installation. Murphy Pipeline Contractors was chosen for the job due to their extensive experiences in their static pipe bursting technique. The water services for the residents were only interrupted for a couple of hours and traffic disruption was minimized.

The project replaced 5,250 feet with WL plastics 10" DR 11 DIPS Ideal blue chlorine resistant potable water pipe.
